XPENG G6 power output: 3.3 kW, the 20% threshold and continuous-supply risks

Scope: facts limited to the 2024 G6 English left-hand-drive file in XPENG's official global manual list (XPENG_G6_2024_EN_LHD_User_Manual; the manual states July 2024 and infotainment V5.2). The Global list does not prove each China-mainland or other-market car's configuration; asterisked and "if applicable" features depend on the specific car, and after OTA updates check the current infotainment and vehicle documentation. Intended only for owners whose car has the factory V2L function, to check loads and the environment of use; it does not confirm any third-party device as suitable and gives no plugging-in, rewiring, household-circuit connection or in-car electrical repair steps.

The rated limit can't relax the ban on high-power appliances

When buying camping appliances or power-output adapters, first confirm your 2024 LHD G6 actually has the V2L function described in the manual, then check the appliance rating plate, plug standard and the supplier's compatibility documents. The manual gives the power output as 220 V, maximum 3.3 kW; that is the vehicle-side limit and doesn't prove any appliance, extension strip or adapter labelled "under 3.3 kW" is safe to use. The manual also expressly prohibits household appliances that draw high power for long periods, giving air conditioners, washing machines and tumble dryers as examples; a rating below 3.3 kW or a supplier's assessment can't make an exception to these banned cases. For other appliances the manual doesn't ban, start-up surge and actual load still need checking against the actual car by a qualified supplier and an XPENG service centre. If a label is unclear, a plug is damaged or you would need a home-made adapter lead, don't use it. [1]

Medical and health electronics have their own ban

The manual says the function is unavailable when the vehicle's SOC is below 20%, and if a minimum SOC for power output has been set, it also stops automatically at that level. So remaining charge, on-screen range estimates or total battery capacity can't be converted into a guaranteed number of hours an appliance will run. The manual separately prohibits medical or health electronic devices, and devices that need a continuous power supply; the latter uses medical equipment as an example, because the vehicle's status may interrupt the supply. These are two bans that each stand on their own; the ban on medical and health electronics can't be narrowed to "life-support equipment only". In trip plans, prepare an independent back-up for permitted lighting or communication items, and never use V2L for the banned devices. If the output behaves abnormally, stop power output immediately as the manual requires and contact a professional service; don't look for the cause by increasing the load or retrying repeatedly. [1]

The outdoor environment and cables are part of the compatibility check

The manual requires outdoor appliances to be waterproof or placed in a waterproof environment, and prohibits using appliances, power strips and extension leads in rain or high humidity; V2L must not be used outside the car when there is a risk of lightning. It also warns against connecting several portable power strips, and that twisted or self-overlapping extension leads may cause fire. The manual also prohibits poor-quality products; worn, corroded or broken plugs, or damaged external appliances or discharge plugs, must not be used, and children must not touch the discharge plug. When buying, list where it will be used, weather exposure, cable and plug certification and every appliance together on one checklist; one device's approval label isn't permission for the whole set-up. This article doesn't demonstrate the discharge connector, and doesn't treat vehicle power output as certified to replace a household circuit or fixed supply. [1]
