Tesla Model 3 service reminders: turning them into your own maintenance log

Scope: Model 3 2024+, North America, official manual for software 2026.32; intervals don't carry over to other models

A reminder isn't a repair receipt

The official manual describes the maintenance summary and asks owners to make sure the information is accurate, especially after work at an independent workshop or by the owner. A "completed" time on screen doesn't show who did the work, which parts were used or what the inspection found. It's worth linking each service to its receipt, date, mileage, items and who actually did the work. [1]

Keep planned and completed apart

This article suggests a log with at least three statuses: to do, done and to be confirmed. If the workshop only inspected something without replacing it, don't record it as "replaced"; a booked service that hasn't happened yet shouldn't clear a to-do item either. When a reminder needs updating, check it against the work actually done, then follow the vehicle's official instructions; don't mark something complete early just to clear a prompt. [1]

When records conflict

If the screen, the receipts and the owner's memory disagree, check the receipts and the service provider first, keep the uncertain items open and don't guess missing mileage. Warnings, safety problems or issues that were never dealt with still need a booked inspection. This method helps reduce gaps; it can't change the manufacturer's maintenance requirements, prove warranty eligibility or replace a technician's judgement. Other model years and markets need their own manuals. [1]
