Saving time can't come before safety

This car's manual states clearly that refuelling and charging must not take place at the same time. Both are ways of topping up energy, but that doesn't mean they can be done in parallel. At a service area, plan the order in advance: don't have passengers operate the two sets of equipment separately, and don't ask for fuel while charging equipment is connected. ^[1]

Be clear about the car's status when talking to staff

We suggest telling on-site staff whether the car is connected to any equipment, and carrying out every step strictly in line with the vehicle's and the site's safety requirements. Don't assume the car is ready to refuel just because the engine is silent. If anything is wrong, stop

If you smell fuel, see a leak or see equipment smoking, don't switch to the other kind of top-up just to finish the trip. Make sure people are safe and contact the site and emergency services.
