Brake pads and discs: plenty of regenerative braking doesn't remove the checks

Scope: 2026 Qin L DM-i, China mainland; PDF pp. 355 and 360–361

The schedule still has mechanical brake items

This car's basic maintenance includes checks of the friction pads and brake discs. So owners can't assume the mechanical parts need no maintenance just because they often use energy recovery. Nor can cumulative mileage be used to estimate how much longer a set of parts will definitely last; the actual condition must be judged by a professional inspection. [1]

Quotes can't just compare claims about thickness

We suggest asking the workshop to explain the inspection result, which axle is involved and the model-specific basis for any replacement recommendation. If parts are needed, check the exact part number and where it comes from; a similar shape in a photo or a seller saying "all plug-in hybrids are the same" doesn't prove fitment. An inspection doesn't mean replacement is required, but a safety problem that is found shouldn't be put off just because the brakes are used less. [1]

Abnormal signs come before the schedule

If braking performance changes, the car pulls clearly to one side, the pedal feels abnormal or there is a related warning, stop driving and contact a professional service rather than waiting for the next maintenance. This article gives no wheel removal, thickness limits, torques, bedding-in driving or electronic parking brake service steps. Handover should confirm the actual scope of the work and anything still unresolved; the absence of warnings alone doesn't prove the car is safe. [1]
