Tank 500 and Tank 300 Differential Locks: Identify Centre, Front and Rear Locations Separately

Keep MY25 Tank 500 Luxury centre/rear locks distinct from MY26 Tank 300 Luxury front/rear locks when identifying parts.

Descriptions of both vehicles mention differential locks in two locations. Calling either arrangement “the two-lock set” in purchasing removes a significant location difference. For the Mexican Tank 500 Luxury and Tank 300 Luxury versions checked here, the factory lists different locking locations. Identify centre, front axle and rear axle separately to avoid choosing drivetrain parts by count alone.

Retain each model's own description

The 2025 Tank 500 Luxury sheet lists electronically controlled centre and rear differential locks; the 2026 Tank 300 Luxury sheet lists electronically controlled front and rear differential locks. [T01][T04][T06] This is not a comparison of the same model year and trim, and the Tank 500 information is not extended to its HEV or PHEV versions.

Do not rewrite the Tank 500 entry as front/rear locks or apply centre/rear wording to the Tank 300. For repair or purchasing, record model, powertrain, model year and exact location, then attach the actual vehicle message or damage location. “Two locks” is insufficient.

Locking locations do not establish internal parts availability

These equipment entries do not explain how centre locking is implemented internally or provide exploded diagrams of actuators, switches or differential mechanisms. They do not establish that any parts interchange between the models. Equal quantities and similar-looking buttons are not evidence of interchangeability. [To be verified]

Scope and verification

This article is limited to Mexico; MY25 Tank 500 Luxury 3.0T V6 MHEV and MY26 Tank 300 Luxury 2.0T HEV, checked separately with no cross-model-year applicability. [Model year and trim basis][T01] Factory equipment information identifies functions and parts; it is not a fault or replacement criterion.

No public data were available in the reviewed material for OE numbers, repair parameters, separate parts availability or compatibility and interchangeability. [To be verified] Compatibility or interchangeability must be checked using the vehicle identification number (VIN) and the local factory parts catalogue in Mexico.

For parts discussed here, use the parts enquiry page.
