2025—2026 Geely EX5 lift-off feel: check the regeneration level saved in Drive Setup

Australian MY25/MY26 EX5 Drive Setup can save regeneration settings. Distinguish selection, saving and activation before specifying control parts.

When drivers share an Australian 2025 or 2026 Geely EX5, lift-off deceleration may feel different the following day. For Complete and Inspire, checking whether the regeneration level was saved and activated is more useful than immediately enquiring about a brake module or electric drive assembly.

Selecting a level and saving settings differ

Geely Australia's Flyme Auto S 1.2.0 notice explicitly includes MY25 and MY26 EX5 Complete and Inspire. Its Drive Setup can save the driving mode and the four Low, Medium, High and Auto regeneration options.[Factory update notice][T04]

At vehicle intake, establish which regeneration level was selected, whether it was saved in Drive Setup and whether the saved settings were activated for this drive. These records distinguish different driver selections from settings not being used as expected, giving further inspection a clear starting point.

A different driver does not create another saved configuration

The notice specifically states that Drive Setup saves only one configuration and is not linked to User Profile or Memory Settings. The steering-wheel shortcut can be set to activate the saved settings.[Factory update notice][T04]

Separate user profiles therefore do not establish separate saved regeneration settings. If someone changes the shared Drive Setup and another driver later recalls it, first check what it now contains. Record seat memory, user profiles and Drive Setup separately on the work order.

Describe the driving feel precisely

Instead of “regeneration is broken”, record the current driving mode, displayed regeneration option, whether the shortcut was just activated and the conditions under which the abnormality appeared. This preserves information the technician can review; it does not ask the owner to assess a module by feel.

If the issue remains reproducible after software functions, saved content and activation method are verified, continue inspection using the vehicle's service information. A configuration-saving function does not itself justify replacement of a brake module, electric drive or other hardware.

Scope and verification

This article covers only the described software function on Australian MY25 and MY26 EX5 Complete and Inspire. S1.2.0 is a historical update notice and does not establish the current latest version. The notice also does not promise automatic Drive Setup loading after every power cycle. [To be verified]

No public data was available in the reviewed material for the current vehicle's update path, regeneration and brake module fault criteria, module OE numbers, separate supply or interchangeability. [To be verified] Verify parts selection, compatibility or interchangeability using the VIN and local Australian manufacturer parts catalogue.
